Oopsie Daisies Nail Polish Pick More Daisies

Hi everyone! I'm safely back from vacation with a new polish to share with you.  I had mentioned this would be revealed while I was away but due to a few limited internet access issues it's going to happen today instead. I'm very excited about this polish, I hope you love it as much as I do!

Pick More Daisies is inspired by firstly, my love for the flower. They're my absolute favorite so it was only a matter of time before one like this was created.  Secondly, the name is from a wonderful poem with multiple adaptations that I'm going to credit Nadine Stair for, titled "I'd Pick More Daisies"

"If I had my life to live over, I'd dare to make more mistakes next time. I'd relax, I would limber up. I would be sillier than I have been this trip. I would take fewer things seriously. I would take more chances. I would climb more mountains and swim more rivers. I would eat more ice cream and less beans. I would perhaps have more actual troubles, but I'd have fewer imaginary ones.

You see, I'm one of those people who lived sensibly and sanely, hour after hour, day after day. Oh, I've had my moments, and if I had to do it over again, I'd have more of them. In fact, I'd try to have nothing else. Just moments, one after another, instead of living so many years ahead of each day. I've been one of those persons who never goes anywhere without a thermometer, a hot water bottle, a raincoat and a parachute. If I had to do it again, I would travel lighter than I have.

If I had my life to live over, I would start barefoot earlier in the spring and stay that way later in the fall. I would go to more dances. I would ride more merry-go-rounds. I would pick more daisies."

Pick More Daisies is a green jelly based polish with green shimmers, green and white glitter as well as the show stealer, yellow daisy shaped glitter.  This polish wears nicely on its own or over a favorite green polish.

Zoya Zuza & Greetings from Virginia!

Originally, I had planned to write schedule posts in advance and have then trickle out throughout the week.  I forgot how bad I was a time management and wasn't even close to getting them done. We have internet access despite being in the mountains and I have some downtime right now considering its evening and raining.. I'm tired and want to do nothing constructive.  I like when vacations are low key then they feel like actual vacations.

I took some pictures and saved them before I left of Zoya Zuza so I have them to share today. I usually blog from my desktop, not my laptop, but I thought ahead. Zoya Zuza is just beautiful, I got some great shots of it.  Since I'm having trouble pinpointing the attributes of this polish, I'll just cite Zoya directly "Zoya Nail Polish in Zuza can be best described as: Deep, saturated, oceanic turquoise with gold and silver metallic shimmer and a foil-like finish. A beachy, colorful, foil-like shade with the perfect balance between blue and green." Pretty spectacular description! I almost called it glass fleck, which I know it's not.. foil didn't occur to me!

I found a Ross here, the closest one to me in NJ is an hour away and the time I did go, had nothing even remotely interesting in terms of nail polish.  The Ross here had a ton of stuff, I got lots of pretty polishes to add to my stash.

Thanks for reading (=

I wanted to let all my readers and customers who read here what I will be away from Friday, August 24th to Friday August 31st. I'll be going to Virginia and finally getting some time off! No work, no school, just a wonderful break! (=

Sephora by OPI Why Yellow There... The Perfect Yellow!!

I finally found the perfect yellow (for me)! I've been searching for quite some time and I am absolutely blown away by this one.  It's my first Sephora by OPI polish but this is easily in my Top Five polishes now, easily! I did a summery citrus manicure with it!

"Natural" Light

Here are swatches without the designs.  What makes a perfect yellow for me? Well no lobster hands are an important factor but this.. this polish only needed TWO COATS! Finding my perfect yellow is like finding your HG base coat. I'm so incredibly happy with this.

For the stamping I used plate BM308. I used Konad Special White for the white stamping and Klean Color Mango for the orange stamping.  I glued on some fimo fruits and added polka dots for a finishing touch!

Thanks for reading!  I still have some polishes in stock at my Etsy store. The store will be closing for a week on August 24th, this Friday.  It will reopen on Saturday, August 31st.  Get your orders in now (=

Illamasqua Serenity Rubber Brights & Stamping

I got my first Illamasqua today! I went to Sephora and tried all the testers and decided on Serenity.  I would've loved to take them all home with me but at $14 a piece, I decided one would be a good start.  I also really like the rubbery finish and mattes in general, so this was a really fun addition to my stash.

"Natural" Light

Photos seen here are two easy coats over Orly Bonder, no top coat. I say easy because I was anticipating some difficulty and it wasn't! My middle finger has three coats because I messed up while doing it, but opacity is reached in two.

I jazzed it up with some stamping. This is BM306 with Konad Special White.  Since my nails have a pretty dramatic C-curve, I usually can't stamp a full image design without messing it up.  My thumb cramps and I try, every time and then it dries so fast on the stamper that not all of it picks up.  I fix this by filling in the gaps with dots and rhinestones usually.  I have no issues with smaller designs, just the full image ones. Such a shame!

"Natural" Light

Only three fingers here because I royally botched my index nail.  Pro-tip: use the bathroom before doing your nails.

My first Illamasqua experience was a positive one.  I really like how the bottle fits in my hand too, although that's not really relevant to application or formula.  I also really like the color of this blue even though  I wanted to take all of them home with me!

Oopsie Daisies Nail Polish Planetside 2 Inspired Collection

Hi everyone! I've been working really hard on a collection inspired by the MMO (mass multiplayer online), Planetside 2. For some basic information on the game, click HERE for the Wikipedia article.  Whether you know anything about the game or not here's where the inspiration comes from: there are three "factions", or teams essentially, that each have two representative colors.  Simply enough, I pulled my inspiration from that.  There is a fourth addition to the collection that has a cosmic feel that is not represented by a team, however.

Cosmic Ruins - Cultist Chic - Solider of Fashion - Tyranny

The first of the collection is Cosmic Ruins.  This is a black jelly based polish with various sizes, shapes and colors of glitter.  There is also a subtle blue shimmer to be found, click to enlarge photos to see it.  The photos here are two coats layered over black, but opacity should be reached in three coats.

Cultist Chic is representative of Vanu Sovereignty, VS, their colors being purple and teal.  This polish has purple and teal glitter in a vibrant purple jelly base with shimmer.  Photos seen here are two coats.

Soldier of Fashion, representing the New Conglomerate or the NC, is a vibrant blue jelly based polish with various sizes of blue glitter as well as yellow glitter.  Two or three coats, depending on your application, will reach opacity.

The fourth and final installment of this collection is Tyranny.  This polish represents Terran Republic, or TR.  Tyranny is a black jelly based polish with various sizes of red hexagonal glitter. Three coats will reach typical jelly opacity although this polish looks nice layered over black as well.

I somehow managed to delete my pictures of Tyranny.  I plan on re-wearing it as soon as possible to get adequate swatches for you guys. I'll edit this space as soon as they're ready!

The Planetside 2 Inspired Collection is available now at my Etsy store for $8 a piece, click HERE to visit.

August 2012 My Glam Bag

I got my August GlamBag today!  The bag was full of goodies but I was kinda disappointed at how ugly the bag was this time around.  It's been cute bag after cute bag so I guess a dud was bound to occur. It reminds me of temporary fences, the orange mesh plasticy ones.

This bag contained;
-Circus by Andrea's Choice in Ringmaster
-MyGlam Glam Gloss
-Eclos Plant Stem Cells Cellular Activator Face Serum
-Eclos Plant Stem Cells Anti-Aging Regenerative Cream
-Salty (s.a.l.t.y?) Loose Luxury Mineral Eye Shadow in Glama-ZOID!
-Demeter Roll On Perfume Oil in Clean Skin

So, I'm by no means a beauty blogger, I usually stick strictly to nails since I'm not well versed in anything else but I did do a swatch of the gloss. There was no color listed anywhere on the packaging or the tube, it did say "02" on the bottom of the gloss, though.

"Natural" Light
I got another polish from Circus by Andrea's Choice, this time it was a bright pink neon called Ringmaster.  Although this was a neon, it didn't need a white base.  This is three coats, the third coat really evened it out.  This is over CND Stickey and sealed with Out the Door.

Shade, Outdoors
As true with most neons, this was really difficult to photograph but I am really impressed.  I don't think they should've sent out the yellow as the introduction to the line because it was streaky and difficult, even though most yellows are.  They set the bar really low with the yellow despite its vibrant hue.  Had the yellow polish been my only experience with this brand, I likely wouldn't have bought anymore.

MyGlam is available for $10 a month HERE.

I still have polishes from the Sweet Treat Trio, including the Limited Editions, for sale in my Etsy shop!  To shop, click HERE or click the banner above!
