Christmas Tree Nail Art - Caviar Beads and Striping Tape

A little late on this post but it'll be archived for posterity anyways.  Right before the holidays I was wearing China Glaze Fifth Avenue and decided it needed some spicing up!

Because this wasn't a planned out mani, the color scheme is a little bit off. I'm not a super fan of the mauve and metallic mint but I don't hate it either.

I used scotch tape, striping tape and caviar beads for this design.  The scotch tape was used to make a triangle and the striping tape was zigzagged back and forth and then painted over with Pop Beauty Jade Metal.  Then I peeled both tapes off and applied the caviar beads (which bled terribly by the way with the top coat - these were from the dollar store).  I then applied the stars at the top and sealed with top coat. SUPER simple, took only a few minutes!

Ridiculously late Halloween manicure! Frankenstein!

I've been slacking so bad, that I'm posting a Halloween manicure I did on the 7th of November.  Eek. Enjoy anyways, hehe.

I did Frankenstein! So cute, so simple.  I used Essie Mojito Madness for the green and WnW Black Creme for the black.  For the thumb, I painted my nail green and waited for it to dry.  I used unique shaped nail guides and painted over and then removed the guide.  I dotted on some eyes and pupils as well.  For the stitched nails I used more nail guides and then painted over the meeting point of the green and bare nail with a black striper. It took all of 10 minutes! So easy, so I loved it.

Oopsie Daisies Apple Jelly Autumn Trio - NOW AVAILABLE!

The Apple Jelly Trio consists of three jelly/creme-jelly polishes that all have something in common: Apple Picking. I thought about how to make a good thing better, and decided to have a limited edition trio of Apple Picking in tinted bases for this season's collection!

Granny Smith - Golden Delicious - McIntosh

First up is Granny Smith, which is a light green jelly/creme-like (somewhere in the middle, often called a "crelly" but I just have a strong aversion for that word, ha) with the Apple Picking glitter mix. Shown below is three coats on its own.

Next is Golden Delicious.  This polish shares the base consistency of Granny Smith but has a yellow base color as well as the Apple Picking glitter mix.  Shown is three coats on its own.

Wrapping up the trio is McIntosh, which is a bright red/almost magenta leaning jelly polish with the Apple Picking glitter mix.  Shown is 2 coats on its own. It's a bit on the bright side so it's a little trickier to photograph - for reference this is a similar base color as the previous Oopsie Daisie polish, With a Cherry on Top.

The Apple Jelly Trio is now available at the Oopsie Daisies Etsy Store for $8.50 a piece.

Jessica Lime Cooler with Daisy Gemstones

This mani here is so springtime!  I loved wearing it and I'm excited to share it.

Shown here is two coats of Jessica Lime Cooler over Orly Bonder sealed with one coat of Out the Door.  The formula was surprising; the first coat was a streaky mess but the second coat of Lime Cooler evened out so well that this mani only needed two coats!

The photo above looks a mess but from a bit further away it looked fine and you couldn't see the topcoat bubbles or small imperfections that macro brings to the party.

I applied the gemstones with topcoat and then sealed with it as well in order to have them stay put.  And it worked well, they didnt come off until I picked them off. (Couldn't help it! But they stayed for two days without issue.)

Cartoon Inspired Nails

I keep seeing this pop up on the Reddit nail polish board and decided to finally get them a whirl.  I also keep mistakenly call them comic book nails, which I guess technically works; but they're supposed to look like cartoon nails, like the nails of a cartoon, drawn!

For this manicure I did one coat of Finger Paints Black Expressionism and then two coats of Essie Mojito Madness.  I wasn't able to do a straight line along the free edge wit the green so I went back and used a nail art brush with the same black polish to finish the edge.  This is over Orly Bonder, sealed with OTD, and then I mattified it afterwards.

What do you think? Better mattified or shiny? Goofy or clever?

Zoya Bevin and Essie As Gold As It Gets

I got this Zoya from a promo a few months back but didn't get around to wearing it until now.  Sometimes I know there are certain polishes I'm interested in but they don't scream out to me once I get them, then they sit until I finally wear them and then.. it's love! I've had this on for three days which is unheard of for me. I either pick it off or get too bored of it and remove within 48 hours. This combo has staying power.

Shown is two coats of Zoya Bevin topped with Essie As Gold As It Gets, all over Orly Bonder & sealed with OTD. Zoya describes Bevin as "a dusty, medium sage green color with teal tones and a creamy opaque finish", which I think is a perfect description!  Essie's AGAIG is slowly inching its way into my Top 25 at least. Not usually a fan of gold anything, but this polish is so delicate and pretty.

Jessica Banana Peel and Lime Cooler

I got these Jessicas and two others for a birthday present.  Pastel cremes are my nail polish dreams! They're just my favorite to wear. I love how a fresh creme mani looks and that's why my stash consists of mostly cremes.

Read the end of the post for a coupon code for Oopsie Daisies!

"Natural" Light

Photos seen here are 2-3 coats of each polish over Barielle Pro and sealed with Out the Door.  I said 2-3 coats because some nails needed three while others needed only two.  These were pretty pigmented so I'm not sure why I needed three coats.  I usually only need two for more cremes.  I think thicker coats would've been better and then it would've two coats across the board.

Chanel Peridot & a Generous Gift

I was astounded and so moved by the generous gift I received from a dear friend on one of my nail forums.  I had mentioned my birthday was coming up soon, which high end brands should I give a try? I usually just direct my loved ones towards the things I want but can't afford for my birthday gifts.  My friend sent me a box FULL of high end BEAUTIFUL polishes.

Peridot & Graphite

Annie & Cuprum
Eclipse & Prism
Shadow & Dior
 So fancy!!!
Needless to say, I was blown away.  I actually cried, which I don't do very often at all.  I was so moved, so touched.. thank you buddy!

Chanel Peridot was the first one I wore.  Well, RBL Cuprum was but I didn't get pics, lol. I've never worn a duochrome before, so I had some difficulties photographing it.  This polish stayed on for four days! That's CRAZY if you know me, I'm a daily changer.  I was busy with school, yeah, but I loved it so much.  She didn't just open my eyes to high end brands, but to other finishes!!

This is three coats over Barielle Advanced Pro with Argan Oil (my new base coat to see if I can get the peelies in order) and sealed with OTD.
