First things first: I apologize for my lack of activity here. I feel the void when I'm not actively blogging, as I do enjoy it very much! I've been in a bit of a nail rut, which then carries over into a blogging rut. If I'm not digging my nails I'm not motivated to photograph them, ya know? I consistently paint them, for sure. I've become super critical of my swatch photos lately which has just caused a lull in the blogging process. Anyways, here are my swatches of Sinful Colors Easy Going!
Easy Going is a super light pastel pink creme. I'm absolutely smitten with this and how it looks on my hands. It makes them look tan without the washed out stark white polish look of "is that white out? or polish?" Shown is three coats, relatively thin, over Barielle Advanced Pro (green bottle) sealed with NYC Grand Central Station.
All of the marvelously creative and complex polishes out there and I lose my cool over a near-white creme. Cremes just look so crisp and clean and I love them. Formula on this was a bit on the runny side, but workable.

Jessica Lime Cooler with Daisy Gemstones
This mani here is so springtime! I loved wearing it and I'm excited to share it.
Shown here is two coats of Jessica Lime Cooler over Orly Bonder sealed with one coat of Out the Door. The formula was surprising; the first coat was a streaky mess but the second coat of Lime Cooler evened out so well that this mani only needed two coats!
I applied the gemstones with topcoat and then sealed with it as well in order to have them stay put. And it worked well, they didnt come off until I picked them off. (Couldn't help it! But they stayed for two days without issue.)

The photo above looks a mess but from a bit further away it looked fine and you couldn't see the topcoat bubbles or small imperfections that macro brings to the party.

Jessica Barely Blueberry
Barely Blueberry is from the Jessica Mio Gelato! Collection that I saw and was suckered in by Scrangie's swatches. Couldn't resist the pastel cremes.. my BFF got me 4 of them for my birthday :D This one is so pretty, I'm excited to show it off!
The formula for this was polish was good, but odd. It's somewhat sheer, almost jelly-like (just a little) but it builds super nicely to an opaque creme finish. There's something "airy" about it, but it doesn't effect the outcome. Shown is three somewhat thin coats over Orly Bonder and sealed with Out the Door.

NOTD; beautiful girl
This color is one of my favorites. So girly. I love pinks and cremes and pastels so this is perfect! Somewhat tricky application. This is about 3 and 1/2 coats.. yes 3 and 1/2. Some parts were streaky and a few nails needed a 4th coat while some just needed an extra brush over another spot. Still love it regardless (=
I realize I have posted this color once before but this time around I used a better camera (= Also, I am taking baby steps in progressing towards perfecting the gap!! It's sooooo much easier to remove polish when you don't have to pick and tear at your cuticles to remove every last bit of color.

ugly mani; cute kitty
U-g-l-y you don’t got no alibi, you ugly YEA YEA, you ugly! Atleast, this manicure is. First off, in the lighting of my room, the basecoat is pink. I went outside today and its freaking fluorescent orange. Two things I don’t like; fluorescent and orange. I wanted to rip the polish off my nails so bad haha. Anyways, figured I would post it since I did it, ha.
Base coat is two coats of L.A. Colors Color Craze and I don’t remember the name as I threw out the packaging already. I assumed the color name would be on the bottle somewhere but it isn't! The color name was not relevant to the color itself; it was some kind of high wire or electrical current type of name. Not “Fluorescent orange”, either way it had me fooled.
On top of the basecoat I used a Q-tip (Learn from my mistakes, DO NOT USE Q-TIPS FOR DOTTING) with ORLY “Liquid vinyl” to create the flower shape. I used a paperclip to make the little dots, which works really well.
For the inside of the flowers I used ORLY “Green apple”, Funky Fingers “Cheshire” and “South Hampton sea foam”. They covered nicely and quite opaquely over the black so that was nice to see. I used Sally Hansen “Confetti” and Insta-dry top coat to seal and cover the designs.
Since this mani sucked so much I decided I needed to brighten the mood (= My brother lives in California on his own but had acquired two kitties when he lived in Las Vegas. Anyways, he was having trouble finding places that accepted pets so he sent his kitties on an airplane a few months ago to the sweet land of New Jersey to live with us.
The little bugger in this picture is Frank, aptly named after Frank Zappa. We are convinced he is part ragdoll because he’s so floppy. I guess you would have to know him to know what I mean but this cat is ridiculous. He literally looks around to see what kind of trouble he can get into. Anyways! He has his ADORABLE moments, like today, when I heard some noise on my bed behind me. I turned around and see Frankie burrowing under my comforter as usual. Ten minutes later I turn around and he has literally tucked himself into bed and went to sleep! Most cats I have seen HATE blankets, but no, not Frank- he prefers!
1.. 2.. 3.. AWWW. look at his dirty nose xD his sister has spots around her nose too.
Hope you enjoy & all images are clickable!

sinful colors; beautiful girl
first off i wanted to say WOWWWWW school has consumed me! and secondly, all my nails broke, so i grew them back out.. and then they continued to break. so im just doing my own thing right now with some store bought tips that come bare and have been decorating them myself. i miss my natural nails but im just too rough with them. i actually broke a few in my sleep which continues to baffle me. and not just chip, but BREAK.
first gripe about the fakies is that i bought the wrong style, i got short square.. im thinking i shouldve gotten active square. i have to trim them SO much before theyre ok by my preferences. second gripe is theyre fake and going to damage my nails lol.
i was in rite aid in philadelphia this past week and i found a sinful colors color that mustve overlooked here in jersey. the display was on top of a counter instead of under one like the walgreens here.
its called beautiful girl and its a looooovely creme based baby pink. no frills, just what it is. and i LOVE IT.

fyi, daddy has been using his camera for fishing since its been so nice out.. so i had to employ my genuine POS. photo quality=low. color=mostly true. its a bit brighter i think, but i cant capture that with my camera.

stomach solution
i either struck gold or completely missed with this pink hybrid. it seems nearly identical to pepto-bismol. and therefore it will be aptly titled, "stomach solution".

i used almost half of the "white on" bottle, about a 1/4 of the topcoat and 1/4 of hotpink. the strange thing about the hotpink i used is that when on the nail, its not really pink at all. its an deep orange-y red jelly (hey, i used the term jelly!) extreme sunset color. its almost too bright to even look at, and i was never too crazy about it.

its a bit lighter than a typical barbie pink, but i really do like the way it came out. i think its fun but could use some assistance.

assistance came in the form of;
-sally hansen "nail prisms ruby diamond"
-konad plate m57 [the cheetah print]
-sally hansen "diamond strength no chip nail color" [although i use it as a topcoat for swatches]
-china glaze "matte magic flat finish top coat"
i ended up liking how it looked without the matte finish better, but i think that might be a bit biased since for some reason the matte magic smudged the holo design. i thought i allowed enough time for it to dry but maybe not. well my heart was in the right place atleast!

lilac dreme
so ive been having some serious fun with a new hybrid i made. i know most people refer to them as frankens but ive taken a strong liking to calling them hybrids, so just bear with me! (=
i got my wisdom teeth out on thursday morning and had to take off my nail polish for the thing that monitors my heartrate (they were impacted so i need general anestesia). ive never felt so naked. when i came home i passed out for a good while and when i woke up, the first thing on my list was to repaint them. i decided to use one of the new hybrids i made. but i made it before i made my blog so i rigged up an image of the 3 polishes i used since i wasnt able to take a picture of it.

salley hansen "maxium growth quick dry topcoat"
sally hansen extreme wear in "white on"
funky fingers in "powerplay"
after using "white on" a couple of times i decided that it looks like i painted my nails with white out, so there was no problem parting with it. the topcoat was almost empty and a bit too goopy, and with most of the funky finger polishes, theyre a bit cheap and watered down. theyre streaky and require more coats than i have the patience for. so with those factors in mind, "lilac dreme" was born! i have an absolute love for pastels so i just added more white to tone it down. i didnt think id like it as much i do, so i really am thrilled! this is 3 coats by the way

since lighting is poor i tried to color adjust it to the truest possible. its more lilac than pink.
and as always, i cant leave well enough alone so i jazzed it up with some konad & nail art! i used konad white special nail polish

this is on konad image plate m57 and for the record i LOVE using it on my tips. i have a few other image plates that are intended for french tips but i cannot seem to get it down yet! oh well, practice makes perfect, right?

i added one more element to this mani with color clubs "orchistra" i think it all flows together nicely!
