Oopsie Daisies Nail Polish Earthbound Collection Swatches

Swatches are finally ready!  The Earthbound Collection consists of 7 polishes, three with colored bases and four layering polishes all inspired from various aspects of the Super Nintendo game, Earthbound.

Top L to R: Moonside, Winters, Starstorm Omega, Fuzzy Pickles!
Bottom L to R: Bubble Monkey, Pyskick, Unlikely Hero
Moonside;

Moonside, inspired by vibrant neon colors of Moonside, is a black jelly bases polish with neon matte glitter. Shown here is three coats on its own with one coat of top coat.  It can also be worn over black for a more opaque look; an additional coat of top coat can smooth it out more.

Winters;
Winters is inspired by the colors in the town of Winters.  This is a creme based polish with blue and green matte glitter for the scenery, and pops of purple for the elusive sea creature, Nessie.  Shown is three coats on its own, can also be worn over white for a more opaque finish.

Starstorm Omega;
Starstorm Omega is inspired by the most powerful attack in the game.  Starstorm Omega is a clear base with holo stars, squares and diamonds.  Also in this polish is shreds of silver and silver holo glitter with tiny silver hexes.

1 Coat - 2 Coats - 3 Coats over black

Two coats over China Glaze High Def
Fuzzy Pickles!;
Fuzzy Pickles! is much more fun to say than "Cheese", which is what the in-game photograph prompts your character to say.  Fuzzy Pickles! is a green jelly bases polish with shimmer and green glitter of multiple sizes and colors.  Shown below is four thin coats on its own.

Bubble Monkey;
Bubble Monkey is inspired by the lovably adorable Bubble Monkey!  This is a clear based polish with different types of brown metallic glitter, yellow matte glitter for the bananas and bubble gum pink hearts. Shown below is two coats over Zoya Dea.

Two coats over Sephora by OPI Why Yellow There.. & Finger Paints Paper Mache
Psykick;
Psykick is based on the psychic sidekick, Paula, with extraordinary powers in a little pink dress.  This is a clear based polish with different types of pink matte glitter, yellow glitter for her hair and deep pink glitter for her shoes.  Shown below is two coats over Zoya Lara.

Unlikely Hero;
Unlikely Hero is based on the main character, Ness, and the colors of his clothes.  This polish is clear based with periwinkle glitter as well as red, white and yellow to complete his outfit.  Shown below is two coats over black.

All photos were taken under my "Natural" light lamp, with Orly Bonder as a base coat and Out the Door as a topcoat.  These polishes will be increased in price from $8.00 to $8.50 as they're more complex and consequentially they have a large amount of different ingredients in them.

The Earthbound Collection will be available for sale on Saturday, October 27th.  My Etsy shop is: HERE.

If anybody has any questions or comments regarding these polishes, feel free to leave a comment or contact me through Etsy! I hope you enjoy these as much as I did creating them!

Upcoming Oopsie Daisies: The Earthbound Collection

I've been working on this collection the past few months, it is almost ready so I thought it'd be a good time to share with you the concept and basis of my favorite collection yet!

The Earthbound Collection is a seven piece collection inspired by my favorite video game ever, Earthbound.  This game was released ages ago for the Super Nintendo and it was almost too easy to pull inspiration from it.

Winters;
Winters is inspired by, of course, the town of Winters. A white creme base with blue and green glitter and sporadic pops of purple to represent the elusive sea creature, Nessie.

Psykick;
Paula is a key character in Earthbound.  She's an incredible sidekick with even more incredible psychic powers.

Unlikely Hero;
Ness is the epitome of the unlikely hero.  A small town young boy chosen to save the world!

Fuzzy Pickles!;
Who says "Cheese" anymore anyways? Earthbound's quirky photographer wants you to say "Fuzzy Pickles!" instead.

Starstorm Omega;
The most powerful psychic attack in the game, Starstorm Omega will send stars shooting!

Bubble Monkey;
A key NPC in Earthbound, the Bubble Monkey gets you out of sticky situations.

Moonside;
Wel come to moo nsi ns dem oons ide! I mean, Welcome to Moonside.  The backwards town of Earthbound with neon flashing lights, where yes means no and no means yes.

The Earthbound Collection is set to be released on Saturday, October 27th!

Pink October: OPI Care to Danse? and KleanColor Metallic White + Stamping

I don't think the blog post title is long enough. I needed a palette cleasner so I went for one the OPI NYC Ballets and turned it into a jelly sandwich with some sparkle and added some for-the-cause stamping.

"Natural" Light

I started out with two coats of Care to Danse? and then added one layer of Klean Color Metallic White which is a shimmery metallic white flecked polish.  It's very sparkly!  I then added two more thin coats of Care to Danse? and sealed with a coat of Out the Door.  I used Orly Bonder as my base coat.

You can really see the sparkles from the Klean Color here.  These two colors play SO nicely together and make such a clean/delicate jelly sandwich.

For the stamping I used Bundle Monster plate BM-321and Konad Special White stamping polish.  For the pink ribbons I used Zoya Lara which is the perfect pink for the occasion!

I'm still currently selling the Pink of Me polish in my Etsy store. Two dollars from each purchase goes towards Men's Breast Cancer Awareness education.  Pink of Me is available HERE. So far $32 has been raised!

MyGlam - Ipsy - October 2012

So MyGlam has changed to Ipsy according to what I've heard from them.  It's a recent change that they are still undergoing I believe. This is the prompt the website has:

We changed our name and the site has undergone a fabulous makeover. What's different?

  • We added a ton of new features (and this is just the beginning).

So that's that I guess! I did receive my September bag but, wait for it.. I lost it. In its entirety. I still haven't found it. I cant figure out where I put it.  There are only so many places it can be, too. I have no idea where it is and I'm sorry not being able to share with you.

Anyways, I got my October bag today!

The Bag

I love the mod look of this bag.  It's thickly padded, too. The past few bags have been mesh.

The Contents

be a bombshell.... Eye Liner in Onyx - 3ml

Included was "be a bombshell...." eye liner in "Onyx".  The eye liner is in a felt tipped pen looking item. Depending on how you angle the applicator you can make thinner or thicker lines.  I tried washing this off my arm and it didn't budge. Seems pretty solid to me.

"What's Your Type?" Black Mascara, 3.5ml - I didn't try this one out yet but I have to say I'm glad the bag includes pretty generic colors for stuff like eye liner and mascara.  Realistically I may do my make up once a week, and when I do, I use black or dark brown eyeliner/mascara.  Bright colors can be fun but they're not really practical for me, so I was happy to see black eye products.

Included was "mirenesse" Lip Bomb (cute!) in shade Four, .11 oz. The back of the tube lists it as a "Glossy Lacquer Stain".  The applicator on the brush was something different.  It has indentations, I'm assuming so it fits the shape of your lips.  The color is pretty but not something I'd use most likely.  I don't use much of anything on my lips aside from clear gloss, sometimes a little sparkle.

Also included was a little eyeshadow sampler from Coastal Scents.  Didn't try these yet either.  To be honest I'd rather just share with you what came in the bag than swatch it. I'm not good with make up blogging, nail polish is definitely where my heart is at.

A Pequi Oil treatment was also included for hair. I hope you found this helpful (=

Essence Colour & Go Oh My Glitter!

I'm totally smitten with this polish.  I had gone to my Ulta when they had the BOGO sale for Butter London and checked out the new Essence polishes and picked two of them.  I've not loved a polish like this in a long time.  I think the fun comes from not looking up swatches beforehand, and not knowing it existed either, haha! I just saw it, it looked pretty, so I bought it.

"Natural" Light

This is three thin coats of Oh My Glitter! over my usually base and sealed with OTD.  Application was lovely! Dried super quick, just perfect.  I've always like Essence's polishes, these are no different.  The bottles are bigger and a dollar more, but worth it because you do get more.
