<br />
I missed doing these for the blog so much! I'm happy to have one today to share, though. This bag's theme was "Pretty in Paradise" and I think the bag itself actually reflects that well.<br />
<br />

<br />
I love pineapples, so pineapples on a makeup bag is just adorable. Inside the bag though we have lots of pretties...<br />
<br />

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
---------</div>
<br />
Let's start with the item the jumps out the most to me - the blinding reflection of the Jesse's Girl eyeliner!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-uM6H4xgPiLk/U6KrDCJ_5DI/AAAAAAAAGnA/q9h-pAEFrnA/s1600/007.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-uM6H4xgPiLk/U6KrDCJ_5DI/AAAAAAAAGnA/q9h-pAEFrnA/s1600/007.jpg" height="110" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I haven't actually put this on yet, but I was playing around it with a bit and it is very black and dries suuuuper fast. I intentionally left some on the back of my hand and it stayed on all day despite regular hand washing. I don't know how it'll hold up on the eye but it seems promising.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-BDuKN1UDjvk/U6Kp_125XYI/AAAAAAAAGmM/mVKwu7ypUJ8/s1600/006.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-BDuKN1UDjvk/U6Kp_125XYI/AAAAAAAAGmM/mVKwu7ypUJ8/s1600/006.jpg" height="594" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Above I just did four quick swipes to show thickness variations and below is the brush.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-F8ptXPK_SIA/U6KrDKnb_2I/AAAAAAAAGnM/KeI5VDmhlKY/s1600/008.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-F8ptXPK_SIA/U6KrDKnb_2I/AAAAAAAAGnM/KeI5VDmhlKY/s1600/008.jpg" height="390" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
---------</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Next up is the be a... Bombshell mascara in Lash Out. I have a concern about this product. It has a really strong smell to it - it's a chemical smell - a mix between a sharpie and KleanColor nail polish. I've never opened a brand new mascara before and been punched by its smell, ever. I don't know why it smells like this and I don't know if it's supposed to, but I won't be using it. I found a blogpost of someone else better describing the issue as well as a screencap of the company's reply: <a href="http://havebearwilltravel.com/2014/06/13/profits-before-people-ipsy-gone-wrong-be-a-bombshell-should-be-ashamed/">http://havebearwilltravel.com/2014/06/13/profits-before-people-ipsy-gone-wrong-be-a-bombshell-should-be-ashamed/</a></div>

<div style="text-align: left;">

<div style="text-align: left;">
Next is NYX butter gloss in eclair. So pretty! Love this addition to my stash!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-EWLHX9ZFYo8/U6KqA8C9IHI/AAAAAAAAGmw/vBV3mBkJBHA/s1600/009.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-EWLHX9ZFYo8/U6KqA8C9IHI/AAAAAAAAGmw/vBV3mBkJBHA/s1600/009.jpg" height="640" width="276" /></a></div>

<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
---------</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Next was OleHenrikson truth to go wipes - which are gentle, moisturizing, age-defying cleansing wipes. I use moisturizers otherwise and a facial wipe only interests me if it's removing makeup. These had a light, pleasant scent to them, though.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-pbnHHGuZdHY/U6KqB9Z-pHI/AAAAAAAAGm8/rJY6UVvx3Fk/s1600/012.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-pbnHHGuZdHY/U6KqB9Z-pHI/AAAAAAAAGm8/rJY6UVvx3Fk/s1600/012.jpg" height="418" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
---------</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Finally we have Marc Anthony Dream Waves Beach Spray which I won't be using for practical reasons. My hair is super thick, super straight and nothing can be done to it with professional intervention. I had it curled for a wedding once: two hours. It's a shame though, because beach waves are my favorite and I wish I could practically make them happen. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-LRFe5Kb7IKg/U6Kp_RnCP8I/AAAAAAAAGmA/ckIdGwJBVzc/s1600/004.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-LRFe5Kb7IKg/U6Kp_RnCP8I/AAAAAAAAGmA/ckIdGwJBVzc/s1600/004.jpg" height="640" width="370" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-uSfMTKhFckE/U6Kp_CrW3MI/AAAAAAAAGl4/cbRJlV1ZfIY/s1600/003.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-uSfMTKhFckE/U6Kp_CrW3MI/AAAAAAAAGl4/cbRJlV1ZfIY/s1600/003.jpg" height="640" width="436" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
So there it is! I plan on looking into the mascara debacle a bit more since that seems interesting. Overall, I was pretty pleased with everything except the mascara. The wipes are nice, I'm sure and it would be fun to get beach waves but I'll have wonderfully lined eyes and the perfect pouty lips in the meantime! Thanks for reading!</div>

Since it's been a while, I don't remember the exact number of coats used but I do believe it was an easy two coats. I recall the formula being WONDERFUL. I used Essie Grow Stronger as a base coat and sealed with Out the Door. I was so absolutely smitten with this polish!<br />
<br />
I'm a pretty simple girl, polish wise. I love a bright creme above all, so this polish is a bit outside of my norm. It also appears a lot darker on the nail than in the bottle (see below), but oh my is it stunning! Shadow is a deep plum, almost jelly base - super pigmented by the way - with some flecks of.. gold? Rose gold? It's a bit of a metallic shimmer fleck-fest. Love!<br />

I completed my full time student teaching internship last month, graduated college (finally, holy cow), and just got back from a wonderful vacation from Wisconsin! I miss blogging, so so much. I hope to be able to make more time for it, truthfully my nails get BEAT UP when I'm working and I get too lazy to take care of them. I miss this, I miss y'all and intend on incorporating it back into my routine. I've seen some adorable Funky Fingers at Five Below.. perhaps I'll have a homecoming giveaway soon ;)<br />
<br />
Anyways! On to the polish! My dear bestie Brittany and I went to an Ulta out her way and I found this beauty on sale for $1.50! WHAT. Not only was it super cheap, it's super amazing. Excellent formula. This is two coats, but I think one thick coat might even be possible. The color is so summery and perfect. Also, I'll be without thumb swatches for a while as I broke the joint in my thumb and can't quite bend it yet although I have gained a bunch of mobility back so far.<br />
<br />
I tried a new blur technique on photoshop, which I think only will work for cremes since it doesn't affect the color at all. Shown is two coats of Coastal Surf over Nailtek II Foundation and sealed with OTD. I'm assuming that since this polish was on super clearance that it might be discontinued. I'm not sure, but if you see it..grab it. It's a new fave!<br />

Made for the winter season, Sweater Weather is a grey creme based polish with mini bar glitters (satin white and iridescent), mini gold holo hexes, mini silver hexes and iridescent micro glitter. Shown here is three thin coats on its own. Just a note, sometimes the silver glitter catches on camera as black due to its reflection, but I assure that it is indeed silver!<br />

<br />
Because this wasn't a planned out mani, the color scheme is a little bit off. I'm not a super fan of the mauve and metallic mint but I don't hate it either.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-YXBDyBTcEv4/UsfUAFA8ucI/AAAAAAAAGVw/3X0SWea4A2U/s1600/7525.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="598" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-YXBDyBTcEv4/UsfUAFA8ucI/AAAAAAAAGVw/3X0SWea4A2U/s640/7525.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I used scotch tape, striping tape and caviar beads for this design. The scotch tape was used to make a triangle and the striping tape was zigzagged back and forth and then painted over with Pop Beauty Jade Metal. Then I peeled both tapes off and applied the caviar beads (which bled terribly by the way with the top coat - these were from the dollar store). I then applied the stars at the top and sealed with top coat. SUPER simple, took only a few minutes!<br />

This particular polish, despite being glittery, wears well on me. I paired it up with some other colors to achieve the final look.<br />
<br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Zoya Frida - Funky Fingers Platinum Record - Essence Choose Me!</td></tr>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-uybmGzjONQo/UqBJt2A6acI/AAAAAAAAGUk/XxSUO05NJYE/s1600/7515.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="402" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-uybmGzjONQo/UqBJt2A6acI/AAAAAAAAGUk/XxSUO05NJYE/s640/7515.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Layering goes as follows:<br />
<ol>
<li>Nailtek II Foundation</li>
<li>Two coats Choose Me!</li>
<li>Stamped: BM 204, FF Platinum Record</li>
<li>One coat Zoya Frida</li>
<li>One coat OTD </li>
</ol>
I'm super happy with how this came out! Bonus: the gold gets a bit purposefully "lost" in the manicure, the stamping doesn't need to be perfect. <br />
<br />

<br />
I used the floral full nail design right above BM204 for the stamping.<br />

Fir is a deconstructed Christmas tree polish - a clear based glitter topper with green shreds and various color
glitter "ornaments" with a gold holo sparkle and white matte stars to
top the tree off! There are hints of blue, yellow, red, pink and turquoise surrounded by the green of a fir tree.<br />
<br />
Fir is available at the Oopsie Daisies Etsy shop now for a limited time only. <b><a href="https://www.etsy.com/listing/171379724/limited-edition-fir-christmas-tree-nail?ref=shop_home_active">CLICK TO SHOP. </a></b><br />

I love these polishes, they're a great price and totally decent quality with lots of colors that appeal to me.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-d9NZ1eC7nOU/Up5rxRebSAI/AAAAAAAAGTI/pO1anDeWqyg/s1600/7512.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="636" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-d9NZ1eC7nOU/Up5rxRebSAI/AAAAAAAAGTI/pO1anDeWqyg/s640/7512.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Shown above is three thin coats of Grey-T to Be Here over Nailtek II Foundation and sealed with OTD. It's got a light grey creme base with subtle pink shimmers that peek out just a little bit. The color and formula was slighty sheer so it took three coats but it builds so nicely that it wasn't even an issue. The pink/grey color combo works so nicely as well, a pleasant surprise! My lighting setup washed out the shimmers a bit though, they are a bit more noticeable to the naked eye.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-SDNkbc0Zkqs/Up5rxqgsHbI/AAAAAAAAGTE/EqMKNgsq-mY/s1600/7511.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="460" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-SDNkbc0Zkqs/Up5rxqgsHbI/AAAAAAAAGTE/EqMKNgsq-mY/s640/7511.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-reLuOVEDORM/Up5rxdNlpeI/AAAAAAAAGTA/ES-EdwQyFso/s1600/7510.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-reLuOVEDORM/Up5rxdNlpeI/AAAAAAAAGTA/ES-EdwQyFso/s640/7510.jpg" width="596" /></a></div>
<br />
<span id="goog_1545469625"></span><span id="goog_1545469626"></span>And I know it seems to be totally hit and miss and I'm sure I'm in the minority here but I ADORE the brush. The shape and width of it completely fits my nails and makes application super easy. I've seen a decent amount of dislike regarding the brush but I'm personally a huge fan of it. It's a bit on the wide side so I can see why those with smaller nails/hands might not be too keen on it, though.<br />

I was able to pick two designs, Peacock being one of them, and then a holiday one that I'll do later on as the season approaches.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<br />
<br />
So I pretty much had a really positive experience with these and was pleasantly surprised. I don't think they're real nail polish like the Sally Hansen ones (no nail polish smell), but they weren't those glue-y sticker knock off ones either - phew! They were slightly tacky which helped applying them with ease. I had no trouble applying these and followed the instructions. These wore the same on me as the Sally Hansen ones do, which is just a couple of days. I'm terribly rough on my hands and had been packing a large Oopsie Daisies order for Sweden and these held up really well! Came off easily with acetone. No gooey melting, no mess. These were VIBRANT! I loved that about them, they jumped off my nails!<br />

<br />
I did one hand with no basecoat, and on with. Both hands had topcoat and I didn't notice a real difference. The only con to these I can think of is that I wish there were more sizing options. My nails on my right hand are larger than those on my left. My index and ring finger on my right hand (not shown) had pretty significant gaps but next time I'll use a larger size one (the extra thumb maybe?) and cut it down to size.<br />

Whenever I do venture to do any sort of designs or nail art, I start on my ring finger so if I find it too time consuming, it becomes an "accent" nail instead. Clever, I know, haha.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RZPAUZOP7po/UpErYwzX8TI/AAAAAAAAGRY/66fiIKIzzhU/s1600/7509.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="604" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RZPAUZOP7po/UpErYwzX8TI/AAAAAAAAGRY/66fiIKIzzhU/s640/7509.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Eye Popping Poppy is super hard to describe. I could've sworn I reviewed this polish before but I wasn't able to find it on the blog so I wasn't able to reference my previous description, oops. It's a creme like jelly, it's not 100% either creme or jelly - there's a decent amount of sheerness. It also lean coral/pink/orange depending on the lighting. It's BRIGHT too, definitely has neon attributes! Shown is 3 coats.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-i35ZWicUnsk/UpErY4n0DhI/AAAAAAAAGRc/AAc_6Y1KTao/s1600/7508.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="472" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-i35ZWicUnsk/UpErY4n0DhI/AAAAAAAAGRc/AAc_6Y1KTao/s640/7508.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I used L.A. Colors Wire for the silver and mapped it out with striping tape, and them used a makeup sponge to dab it on to create the gradient effect. Super easy, just a bit tedious to cut up the thin tape. Sealed with on coat of OTD and over NailTek II Foundation basecoat.cathrynhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05476977485386202778noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8128089987129748634.post-28185658315214514152013-11-10T04:08:00.002-05:002013-11-10T04:12:17.209-05:00Sinful Colors SinfulShine in Blue Suede Shoes - LOVE it!I love this polish. I've worn it three times already and I haven't even had it very long.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-xW6EUiPmtvM/Un9MQo8XC_I/AAAAAAAAGPw/QplmAEzkAgA/s1600/7507.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="392" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-xW6EUiPmtvM/Un9MQo8XC_I/AAAAAAAAGPw/QplmAEzkAgA/s640/7507.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The SinfulShine line is a series of polishes with "Gel Tech" that makes them similar to gel polishes in terms of shine and wear. I'm thrilled with this polish (only SinfulShine I own at the moment), I look forward to getting more. This is a dense creme, only two coats - could do one if it was thick enough! The shade is beautiful, too.<br />

<br />
I had a bit of an incident while showering and took off a chunk of my nail with my razor )= My index is gonna be a bit wonky for a while but I couldn't manage to cut the rest down to match. So annoying too as my index takes a beating from everyday life and is the slowest to grow. I'm just pretending it matches and invite you to pretend along side me :D <br />

Frankenstein! I've been slacking so bad, that I'm posting a Halloween manicure I did on the 7th of November. Eek. Enjoy anyways, hehe.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-npxwvI7OeSM/UnsyPOIMerI/AAAAAAAAGO4/b4JM7McCrlY/s1600/7500.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="606" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-npxwvI7OeSM/UnsyPOIMerI/AAAAAAAAGO4/b4JM7McCrlY/s640/7500.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I did Frankenstein! So cute, so simple. I used Essie Mojito Madness for the green and WnW Black Creme for the black. For the thumb, I painted my nail green and waited for it to dry. I used unique shaped nail guides and painted over and then removed the guide. I dotted on some eyes and pupils as well. For the stitched nails I used more nail guides and then painted over the meeting point of the green and bare nail with a black striper. It took all of 10 minutes! So easy, so I loved it.<br />

It was PACKED full of some super fun items that I'm very excited to share with you.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-TtxXY-3OkHQ/UmXQSkQA4dI/AAAAAAAAGI0/qgX7XLqThe4/s1600/oct13-02.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="446" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-TtxXY-3OkHQ/UmXQSkQA4dI/AAAAAAAAGI0/qgX7XLqThe4/s640/oct13-02.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
I just have to add how cute this bag is. I love it so much!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Here we have the worst group shot I've taken to date. I have no idea what was going on with my camera and lighting set up today. I made sure to use my familiar settings; there was so much contrast and wonky lighting so I apologize in advance.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-b2HJq_TUA9A/UmXQSyu77BI/AAAAAAAAGJA/W6pSQj7D09A/s1600/oct13-04.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-b2HJq_TUA9A/UmXQSyu77BI/AAAAAAAAGJA/W6pSQj7D09A/s640/oct13-04.jpg" width="380" /></a></div>
<br />
First up is be Delectable Strawberry & Cream Hand Cream. This stuff smells SO incredible. It's super sweet, and smells exactly what you'd expect it to smell like. I prefer sweet over floral and musky so this is right up my alley although I do realize it's not everyone's cup of tea. It's got a really nice feel and again, the most delicious scent that may exist!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-5KKYpSR69xg/UmXQTgGnBoI/AAAAAAAAGJE/vKPvf8Z9cWs/s1600/oct13-05.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="384" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-5KKYpSR69xg/UmXQTgGnBoI/AAAAAAAAGJE/vKPvf8Z9cWs/s640/oct13-05.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>

<br />
Next is Big Sexy Hair Blow Dry Volumizing Gel. I don't know anything about hair products, but it smelled nice. I have nothing to contribute except the lone picture but here ya go!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-5NnVRB5qUBk/UmXQSIuBmdI/AAAAAAAAGIs/pV6a6NtI8b0/s1600/oct13-03.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-5NnVRB5qUBk/UmXQSIuBmdI/AAAAAAAAGIs/pV6a6NtI8b0/s640/oct13-03.jpg" width="304" /></a></div>
<br />
Next was a FULL BOTTLE OF ZOYA. Yesssssssss! I adore my Zoya polishes and this is the second one I've gotten from Ipsy/MyGlam. This was a bottle of Giovanna.<br />
<br />

<br />
Shown above is three coats with no topcoat. There are some slightly visible brushstrokes but it's so beautiful that I don't even mind. It's just stunning in person! <br />
<br />
Next is Buxon Lips in Dolly. I've gotten one or two of these before in previous bags. Again, I don't know enough to comment coherently about them so I'll just share the pictures.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Finally, the last item in the bag was a package of face cleansing wipes from La Fresh. These have a nice clean, almost citrusy scent.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-A6Yo9cg_YL8/UmXRMvHz4QI/AAAAAAAAGKI/CzJrAreWxUk/s1600/oct13-14.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="442" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-A6Yo9cg_YL8/UmXRMvHz4QI/AAAAAAAAGKI/CzJrAreWxUk/s640/oct13-14.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>

<br />
There ya have it folks! I was so completely pleased with this bag this time around. Last month there were mini butterLONDONs in some of the Ipsy bags and I was really bummed about not getting one (I didn't post September's bag but I most definitely did not get a polish), so this month's bag made up for it in a great way :)cathrynhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05476977485386202778noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8128089987129748634.post-27472629037162115602013-10-21T21:06:00.003-04:002013-10-21T21:07:14.855-04:00Oopsie Daisies Nail Polish Hocus Pocus Halloween Giveaway Winner!I realize I'm terrible with making post announcements but the winner's package was sent out last week already. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
I love neutrals and I love these nail decals so this mani was a match made for me! Take a look!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-WTN0l6Ijr-s/Uk-4Qj9RnAI/AAAAAAAAGH8/xVF_APn9W_I/s1600/7495.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="456" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-WTN0l6Ijr-s/Uk-4Qj9RnAI/AAAAAAAAGH8/xVF_APn9W_I/s640/7495.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I think these colors looked great together! I put a decal on each ring and thumb nail. Click <a href="http://hotpinkaurora.blogspot.com/2013/05/born-pretty-water-decals-review-coupon.html">HERE</a> to go to my post explaining the process. For this mani I used 3 coats of American Apparel's Mouse over Orly Bonder and sealed with Out the Door. The decals were added the next day. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ehJvUFTyWYs/Uk-4Q3Ju5rI/AAAAAAAAGIA/m4ZXzRRzBt8/s1600/7493.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ehJvUFTyWYs/Uk-4Q3Ju5rI/AAAAAAAAGIA/m4ZXzRRzBt8/s640/7493.jpg" width="596" /></a></div>
<br />
I did a similar manicure this week (the mani I'm posting now is a few
weeks old) and I tried not putting topcoat over the decals. They remained tacky (the clear borders did at least) and picked up fuzz and dust. So lesson learned: always topcoat the water decals!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

The base of this manicure is two coats of OPI Berlin There Done That, which is a taupey, slightly greyed out creme polish that I absolutely adore. Pardon the tip wear!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zptjQmxLi1U/UkyIkWXuAQI/AAAAAAAAGHQ/4d88-57jJkI/s1600/7498.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zptjQmxLi1U/UkyIkWXuAQI/AAAAAAAAGHQ/4d88-57jJkI/s640/7498.jpg" width="604" /></a></div>
<br />
This is definitely one of those uh, "looks better from a distance" manicures. A continual and absolute frustration I've had since I've been polishing is the streakiness of black polishes when doing any sort of nail art. I've waited hours before applying top coat before, I've floated the brush across - but I still get streaks. I usually will just photoshop them out but this was too busy to do that.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-5VdxoxRM1f8/UkyIkW_GEuI/AAAAAAAAGHY/qgIygF43E6w/s1600/7497.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-5VdxoxRM1f8/UkyIkW_GEuI/AAAAAAAAGHY/qgIygF43E6w/s640/7497.jpg" width="590" /></a></div>
<br />
I used plates BM206 and BM221 for the stamping designs. I used Wet n Wild Black Creme for the black flowers and L.A. Colors Live for the silver accents. I did do the stamping super quickly because I wasn't planning on wearing it for long. It does look much nicer from a few foot distance, sort of like a tapestry. The silver stamping was done first, then the black flowers and finally sealed with a coat of OTD.<br />
<br />

This is one of my favorite collections to date! I am obsessed with the movie Hocus Pocus and watch it regardless of what time of the year it is, so it was an obvious decision for the Halloween collection to be based on the wicked witches themselves!<br />

<span id="goog_1079778564"></span><span id="goog_1079778565"></span>The trio consists of three jelly based polishes inspired by the witches costumes. First up is I'll Take Thee Away -I'll Take Thee Away is inspired by the delightfully dense Sarah
Sanderson. The color scheme in this polish is
derived from her spectacular costume. I'll Take Thee Away consists of
lilac, pink, purple, violet and pink holo dot glitter in various
finishes and sizes all put together in squishy dark berry base. Shown below is three coats on its own with one coat of top coat.<br />

Next is Witchcraft. Witchcraft is inspired by the hauntingly evil Winifred Sanderson. The color scheme in this polish is derived from

green, silver and large turquoise holo dot glitter in various finishes
and sizes all put together in squishy black jelly base. Shown is 3 coats on its own with one coat of topcoat. This polish can also easily be worn over a black creme for a less squishy final effect.<br />

Closing out the trio is For Thy Sisters. For Thy Sisters is inspired by the pleasantly plump Mary Sandersons. The color scheme in this polish is derived from
her fabulous costume. For They Sisters consists of silver holo
squares, silver and red glitter in various sizes and finishes in a
squishy darkened red jelly base. Shown is 2 coats on its own with one coat of topcoat.<br />
