OPI DS Vintage.. love!

I know, I know! Another holo post.  I think after this one though, I'm going to play with some of the other polishes I've accumulated recently.  This post is about OPI DS Vintage, a beautiful "glow of coppery taffeta".  Well, that's what the brochure said.

I see copper!
3 coats, no BC or TC.
Beautiful!
I surprisingly like this color!  Copper isn't a color I go for, being too close to orange and all.  But I was pleasantly surprised with this one.

Another thought that occured was that DS Vintage and DS Passion look awfully similar next to each other in the bottles.  I know I have horrible lighting in my room but they really look only a fraction of a color different.  So I did  a side-by-side comparison and was once again, proved entirely wrong, lol!

Orange =/= pink. Tricky little things.

Also you may have noticed my blog looks entirely different.  I was suffering from a bout of insomnia last night and evidently felt creative!  I like it though, it's bright and cheery!

Edit: This is my 100th post! YAY (=

more OPI DS beauties!

So I went back to Harmon's today and picked up 4 more OPI DS polishes.  The supply was a little bit picked through, but there was still tons left so it wasn't to bad, really!

I <3 when polish comes packaged.
Elegance - Divine - Design - Passion
I just have to say, these are incredible, and I love them.

No basecoat, No topcoat.
Passion & Elegance look quite similar here, no?
But this one shows more variation between the
two colors.
"Elegance" is my favorite, I think!  I really love pinks and this shade is one of my favorites.  I don't know if I'll wear "Design" as a full mani alone, though.  Maybe I'll swap or just keep it and stare at it because it is pretty, just not on my pale skin!

I asked the lady at the store why they were so cheap, and she said the company sent them over 500 of them.  Even after the staff had picked through and bought first choice (Grrrr!) they said there was still an unreal amount of left overs.  She went on to tell me how there was some type of 3 pack of treatments for 3.97$ too, but the employees bought them before they went out.  The idea of that kind of irks me, to be honest.  I know there is nothing I can do about it; it's an added challenge I suppose!

As always, click to enlarge (especially this post!)

Anyways - which is your favorite?

i dont like un-named polish

So I kinda lied about OPI DS Vintage being my next post.  Instead, I have for you an un-named Funky Fingers layered mani.  One was a dark purple jelly and the other is a blue and purple glitter.  I'm currently finishing my second paper of the day, and just needed a break, so enjoy. OPI DS Ruby and a mini haul

Yesterday was a fabulous day as far as nail polish is concerned.  I went into my local Harmon Discount (like a Sally's but more random crap) and found OPI DS polishes for 3.97$!!  I bought two, but I will be going back for sure because I am in love with the two I got.  Normally polishes on sale are the ugly ones nobody wants; not the case this time around!

Anyways! I couldn't wait to try them out so this post is all about OPI DS Ruby.

OPI DS Ruby with Funky Fingers Moonwalk
"Rich, jeweled red" according to the brochure.
It's a magnificent deep pink holo!
GORGE.

& one more for good measure (=
OPI DS Ruby & Vintage
You'll only benefit from clicking to enlarge these pictures.  Ruby is absolutely stunning!  It's like a circus on my nails.  Pictures with the french tip have a topcoat on them (couldn't help it LOL) but the ones with just Ruby only have Nailtek II as a basecoat.

I also picked these up in a 4-pack for 5$ at Five Below.
I love purples.  What a fantastic shopping day!
Pretty sure OPI DS Vintage is going to be my next post; maybe.. maybe not - we'll see :D

ravamped franken; Moondream

So I originally made a franken that I was not happy with! But I revamped it.  And now I love it.

Moondream (After a My Little Pony LOL)
Ingredients
This is the original.  I added lots more white
to achieve the color I wanted.
Close up of the shimmers.  Click to enlarge.
Pretty lilac shimmer/creme.
I'm really glad I added more white.  I was not happy with the original color and it sat in my drawer for a while before I took it out and decided to change it.  Now it's wearable.  The bottle I used had a clear polish in it, so it has a clear base.  I really like these bottles though. I got them at the Dollar Tree and they're Maybelline brand.  They're smaller than RBL bottles but similar.  I wish I had a whole hoard of these to franken with!

Which do you prefer, the before or after?
