blue glitter comparison

I was playing around with my polishes yesterday and decided to look at all my blue glitters.  Basically, that's it lol.

My acetone was severely drying my skin, so excuse the dryness.  I didn't moisturize before taking these, oops.

Also, I hate captchas, just saying!

Blue Hawaiian French Manicure

I decided to add a little sparkle to my Funky Finger's South Hampton Seafoam mani.  I used my nail guides and did just one quick swipe with China Glaze's Blue Hawaiian.  I love how blue can be winter-y and spring-y at the same time (=

NOTD; south hamptom seafoam

What a cute name (=  This is a beautiful springy robin's egg blue creme, or tiffany blue, I guess.  It's a subtle difference.  Either way, love love love!

Pre-cleanup, excuse the mess xD

Sad sad; my index finger finally went!  The nail itself was destroyed thanks to my fakies I had used months ago but I had been using strengthening foundations to try and make it work.  And it held on for a long time.  I was cleaning underneath my nails and the tool I was using pierced RIGHT THROUGH the middle of the free edge.  It didn't technically break, but it looked a mess.  If I had tried to file/buff it, it would have made it even more thin and fragile.

I don't know if you can tell, but where the light hits my index nail, you can see a break in the white part.  That's how dramatic the dent in my nail is from when I stopped using fakes.  All of my other nails have much less noticeable indentations and much much less damage.  My left hand is worse than my right since I am right handed and was able to push the fakes on harder with that hand.  Ugh )=  They're about half way grown out.  Only a few more months to go!  Also, I added a cute french tip to these, I'll update later!

Born yesterday?

First off, I want to state that most of the Sally Hansen products I have, I love and use to their fullest extent.  Now, let me vent.  I feel sort of like the product designers over there must think we are a special breed of stupid for releasing this product;

This was the brochure next to the display.

Say it with me ladies; “WTF”.  Not only is this one of the most gimmicky things I’ve seen in a long, long while, but when I opened the bottle in the store I could hardly believe of awkward and wonky this product was.  I’ve never claimed to be an Einstein, but the mechanics of this bottle were tricky.  The twisting motion seems like something only to jam up and eventually become stuck and useless.  The handle was incredible awkward to hold and I’m not sure how anyone exactly could use this without complications.

I suppose if you know nothing about polish, functional brushes and brush handles, this would be super novel and enticing at the same time.  Not to complain about the quantity of polish, but when I opened it, it nearly slopped over the side because they’re so full.  I don’t sample polishes in stores, but I do open them to get an idea of formula/color.

I'm not crazy about the idea of a bottle of nail polish needed directions on how to open it. But thanks for the inspiration inside the pamphlet.

-In other news, my dad ordered a new power supply and hard-drive for my computer and combined all my files and programs from both computers onto one.  Now I have everything I need and a functioning computer. Yay!
-I finally registered at my new school (a university! Just excited to be finished with my community college excursion, hehe!) and start next week (= I am soooo excited to go back to school but NOT excited about the 45 minute commute by train or hour commute by car.  Patience, please be with me.
-Found out I needed to declare a second major, I chose English.  I need 39 additional credits in English alone.  I have about 56 out of 129 needed to graduate with my BA.  Wish me luck ladies…
-I’m taking 3 classes this semester.  Adolescent psychology, Writing about Literature and British Literature II.  Fkin’ A!!
-14 followers away from my first giveaway!!

Also, I took this picture the other day of (from left to right) my roomie, sister and sister's BFF.  We were all doing our nails but at the moment of capture, not so much.  I just think it's funny when people are in my room, it's so small so the bed is only choice for seating, ha!

perfected the french!

Good News/Bad News time. My dad finally fixed my good computer. But I am still using the bad one. Booooo.  My "good" computer has Photoshop CS on it so this post and the next few will be edited and cropped courtesy of MS Paint! Yay!!

I bought myself some of Nailene's PERFECT Tip Guides and oooh am I excited!  They work so nicely and finally, I am able to give myself the perfect french mani without wanting to rip my hair out. It's a good day!

Wheeee I love it!  The white was done on my bare nail with L.A. Girl's "French White".  After that I applied one coat of NailTekII and then sealed with a coat of my Beauty Secrets Topcoat (which I love btw, doesnt goop up!)

Side note: look at my index finger nail. It's a wonky freakin' mess.  My fakies that I glued on it last year ruined the shape and it is still growing out. Faster, Faster!!

whoops

Sorry I haven't been active the past few days.  The cable and net was down for two days, then my hard drive blew (it's OK, it's a spare) and my dad had to fix my computer then I picked up some substitute hours and was at work for 10 hours today!  The boyfriend came back from vacation so I've been trying to see him as much as possible because I missed him :p And that leaves me to now.. almost midnight absolutely exhausted!  I will have some new stuff for you guys tomorrow and I have lots of catching up to read on your blogs (=

However, I went to Harmon's on my break today and picked up my first ever OPI polish! This one really stood out to me!

Pamplona Purple! I also got some Nail Tek II which is blowing my mind as we speak, haha.
Have a good weekend guys!
